Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Factory Automation. You will design custom mechanical systems, fixtures, robotic tooling, and machine frames, collaborating with controls and software teams to deliver complete automation solutions.

The role requires hands-on experience with custom machines, GD&T on drawings, and a strong manufacturing background. Opportunities to travel for projects and on-site work at Blue Origin facilities are available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical design for automation, robotics, or industrial equipment.
• 3+ years CAD with GD&T on 2D drawings and design releases.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD with PDM and machine design fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design custom mechanical systems and assemblies for automation equipment.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using NX/ SolidWorks/ Creo.
• Develop BOMs, assembly instructions, and technical docs.
• Collaborate with controls/software/project mgmt to deliver solutions.
• Ensure designs meet safety, manufacturability, and ergonomics standards.
• Support fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning.
