Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for the Factory Automation team within Blue Origin Operations. This role designs, builds, and deploys automated manufacturing equipment to enable scalable production across programs.

The successful candidate will have hands-on mechanical or controls engineering experience, 5+ years in automation projects, and leadership from requirements through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
• Minimum 5 years building and commissioning automated manufacturing systems.
• Experience leading capital equipment or automation projects.

Responsibilities

• Engage internal customers to define, document, and validate system requirements for automated manufacturing solutions.
• Develop conceptual simulations and cycle time models of machines and lines to optimize automation strategies.
• Develop initial conceptual solutions for automated manufacturing equipment and present to stakeholders.
• Lead Design for Automated Manufacturing initiatives with product design teams to improve manufacturability.
• Prepare cost estimates, labor-hour projections, and project schedules for proposed automation solutions.
• Own project execution from requirements through commissioning, maintaining schedule, budget, and scope.
• Maintain comprehensive technical knowledge and act as the primary point of accountability for project decisions.
• Identify and evaluate automation suppliers; support procurement decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering during detailed design to align with conceptual intent.
