Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (EIT) to support planning, design, and construction of building mechanical systems across diverse facility projects.

You will work with engineers and project managers to develop practical solutions for clients while gaining experience across project types. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited), an EIT certification, and at least four years of relevant design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience designing and drafting mechanical building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
• E.I.T. certification.
• PE licensure within 1 year is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility studies, assessments, and evaluations, including: Existing system due diligence reviews; Facility condition assessments; Feasibility and conceptual design studies; Probable construction costs; Indoor air quality evaluations; Utility master planning.
• Assist in the design of HVAC systems, building automation systems and energy management systems; Plumbing systems; Fire protection systems; Special piping systems.
• Prepare construction drawings and contract documents using Revit; Perform field investigations and document existing mechanical systems.
• Assist engineers with load calculations, energy modeling, equipment selection, and system layouts.
