Job summary

Hanson is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (EIT) to support planning, design, and construction of building mechanical systems across diverse facility projects. You will collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop innovative, practical solutions while gaining experience on multiple project types.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 4+ years of design/drafting experience, EIT certification, and a path toward PE licensure.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree required.
• Minimum of four years designing and drafting mechanical building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
• E.I.T. certification; PE licensure within one year is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility studies, assessments, and evaluations (existing system due diligence, facility condition assessments, feasibility studies).
• Assist design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical coordination.
• Prepare construction drawings and documents using Revit; assist field investigations.
• Support load calculations, energy modeling, and equipment selection.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
• Participate in shop drawing reviews and construction administration.
