Job summary

Mount Indie is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide professional mechanical engineering services in support of the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for NAVFAC Atlantic (LANT) in Norfolk, VA.

This role supports mechanical design for a wide range of government facilities and requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs that meet NAVFAC and DoD standards.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering code-compliant facilities design experience.
• Knowledge of DoD/Navy standards and related codes.
• Familiarity with ASME, NFPA, ASHRAE, and related standards.
• Experience with building systems design and DoD project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering for plumbing, HVAC, and controls systems.
• Support energy-saving and renewable systems in large facilities.
• Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams and related designs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure code-compliant designs.
• Incorporate ATFP and security requirements into mechanical design.
