Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and test mechanical systems across the product lifecycle. You will use CAD tools, perform analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, efficient climate solutions.

Expect involvement from concept through validation, with on-site work Monday-Thursday and flexible Fridays. A BS inMechanical Engineering is required, with CAD/FEA experience highly valued. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree advantageous.
• Strong CAD skills and experience with design for manufacturing.
• Experience with thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science favorable.

Responsibilities

• Concept generation: design innovative mechanical concepts meeting specs.
• 3D modeling & drafting using CAD with GD&T.
• Material selection based on strength, thermal, environmental, and cost needs.
• Structural analysis including stress, fatigue, and vibration (FEA).
• Thermal and fluid analysis to optimize heat dissipation and efficiency.
• Tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure assembly and reliability.
• Prototype assembly for concept validation and testing.
• Define and execute validation test plans (thermal cycles, environmental, load).
• Analyze test data, troubleshoot failures, and drive design iterations.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Software, PMs; support manufacturing with DFMA.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and ECOs.
