Job summary

Jobot is seeking a permanent Mechanical Engineer for a civil engineering client in Chicago. The role emphasizes mechanical system design, HVAC, and CAD drafting within a growing team.

You will contribute to high-profile projects, apply ASHRAE standards, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust building systems and effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (Illinois).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, and CAD Drafting; REVIT experience.
• Experience with PowerGeopak, OpenRoads, and MicroStation.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and ASHRAE standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging.
• Conduct research to solve complex engineering problems using advanced theories.
• Use CAD software to design and visualize projects.
• Coordinate all aspects of production including manufacturing methods and fabrication.
• Apply HVAC principles in design and implementation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and vendors/contractors.
• Apply ASHRAE principles in HVAC design and maintenance.
• Utilize PowerGeopak, OpenRoads, and MicroStation in projects.
• Design and oversee installation of building systems and maintenance procedures.
• Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, and CAD Drafting in design implementations.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Permanent Mechanical Engineer with a background in Civil Engineering. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of various mechanical systems in the civil engineering industry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to high-profile projects. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical design, HVAC systems, and CAD drafting.

Responsibilities

1. Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging.
2. Conduct research to solve complex engineering problems through the application of advanced mechanical theories.
3. Use CAD software to design and visualize projects effectively.
4. Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs.
5. Apply principles of HVAC systems and incorporate them into designs and implementations.
6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
7. Apply principles of ASHRAE in the design and maintenance of HVAC systems.
8. Use powergeopak, Openroads, and MicroStation in the design and implementation of projects.
9. Design and oversee the installation of building systems and specification of maintenance procedures.
10. Utilize Auto Cad, AutoCAD 3D, and CAD Drafting in the design and implementation of mechanical systems.
11. Ensure compliance with safety standards and governmental regulations.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.
3. Professional Engineering (P.E.) license (Illinois)
4. Proficiency in Auto Cad, AutoCAD 3D, and CAD Drafting and REVIT.
5. Experience with powergeopak, Openroads, and MicroStation.
6. Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems.
7. Familiarity with ASHRAE standards.
8. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, and piping design.
9. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
13. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
