Job summary

Garver Engineering seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver building systems across HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. You will mentor staff, coordinate with disciplines, and oversee designs from concept through construction.

You will lead energy modeling, ensure QA/QC, manage budgets and schedules, and interface with clients. Proficiency in Revit and MS Office is required, with ABET-accredited degree and FE exam passed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• 5–10 years of building design and construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of building mechanical design principles.
• Experience overseeing mechanical designs with detailed plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Requirements

• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• 5‑10 years of building design and construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles related to building mechanical designs.
• Proven experience overseeing mechanical designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects.
• Technical competence in building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Preferred Skills

• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• Experience with AIA MasterSpec.
• Knowledge of Federal Agency design criteria.
