Job summary

Merlin Labs in Boston, MA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own end-to-end mechanical design and integration of avionics systems for our Merlin Pilot autonomy platform.

You will design, test, and analyze components, perform CAD work, and lead system integration activities, with travel up to 25-50% domestically and internationally. This on-site role at Merlin HQ offers a comprehensive benefits package and equity along with competitive base pay.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Advanced modeling experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Catia, OnShape, Fusion360 or Creo).
• Proven leadership in engineering activities (mechanism design, controls, environmental and structural analyses).

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and test avionics and control components for aircraft and test labs.
• Oversee and perform design and analysis tasks for system integration including stress analyses.
• Provide CAD support and apply GD&T best practices.
• Support testing activities and generate data analysis and test reports.
• Prepare mechanical drawings and related documents.
• Travel up to 25-50% domestically and internationally as needed.
