Job summary

Merlin Labs, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled mechanical engineer to design, analyze, and test avionics and control components for aircraft and test labs. You will lead system integration tasks, apply GD&T, and produce fabrication drawings while supporting rigorous test plans and documentation.

This role involves frequent hands-on work and travel to domestic and international sites. The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, 5+ years of experience,

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of technical work experience in mechanical design.
• Experience leading engineering activities such as mechanism design and structural analysis.
• Experience with RTCA DO-254 and MIL-STD-810 preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Hands-on lab/field capability; SMT soldering and use of hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and test avionics and control components for aircraft and test labs.
• Oversee and perform design and analysis tasks for system integration including stress and model analyses.
• Provide CAD support with GD&T and industry best practices.
• Support testing activities: test plans, data analysis, and documentation.
• Prepare and coordinate mechanical design and fabrication drawings.
• Occasional travel up to 25–50% domestically or internationally for integration and testing.
