Job summary

Merlin Labs, headquartered in Boston, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, integrate, and test avionics and control components for aircraft and test labs.

You will lead system integration tasks, perform stress and environment analyses, and provide CAD support throughout design and certification phases. Eligible candidates travel up to 25–50% to support international locations. On-site work at Merlin HQ in Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with rapid design cycles from concept to test.
• Ability to lead engineering activities in mechanism design and controls.
• Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and test avionics and control components for aircraft and test labs.
• Oversee design and analysis tasks for system integration including stress and model analyses.
• Provide CAD support for design activities and GD&T practices.
• Support testing activities including test plan creation, data analysis, and reports.
• Prepare and coordinate mechanical design and fabrication drawings and related documents.
• Travel up to 25–50% to domestic and international locations for integration and testing.
