Job summary

Intuitive is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Advanced Energy, to design and develop next-generation catheters and electromechanical devices for robotic-assisted surgery. You will work in a small cross-functional team on mechanical/electrical design, prototyping, testing, and documentation, with emphasis on high-quality prototypes and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a BS, or 3 years with a MS.
• Experience in cross-functional R&D teams.
• Familiarity with FDA QSR 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14971.
• Rapid prototyping methods incl. 3D printing and machining.
• Experience with flexible catheter design and materials.
• CAD-based design proficiency (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience working with suppliers.
• Independent work capability with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and verify concepts for advanced energy catheters/instruments.
• Develop, test and document new solutions per standards and SOPs.
• Hands-on assembly and testing to support proof of concept and validation.
