Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Mechanical Engineer 2 to design and review mechanical systems for secure facilities. You will prepare drawings, specs, and calculations for construction and renovation, and support projects through budgeting and field coordination.

This full-time role requires a Pennsylvania PE or Engineer-in-Training, plus relevant experience with structural mechanical systems. Telework options may be available after training; in-person interviews and statewide travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Two years of professional mechanical engineering experience with structural mechanical systems is required.
• Engineer-in-Training certificate or PE license issued by PA Board is required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations for construction and renovation.
• Develop cost estimates to support planning and bidding.
• Assist field inspection personnel by resolving technical issues.
• Review contractor data such as shop drawings and test reports.
• Investigate mechanical system concerns through inspections and problem-solving.
• Coordinate with other agencies during studies and surveys.
