Qualifications

• 1 year as Mechanical Engineer 1 (Commonwealth or federal equivalent).
• 2 years' professional ME with structural mechanical work + ME degree.
• 2 years' ME with structural work + PA-acceptable EIT certificate.

Responsibilities

• Project Design: Prepare mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations for construction and renovation work.
• Budget Preparation: Develop cost estimates through project phases to support planning and bidding.
• Construction Support: Assist field inspection personnel by resolving technical issues at institutions.
• Submittal Review: Evaluate contractor data such as shop drawings and test reports and recommend actions.
• System Analysis: Investigate and address mechanical system concerns through inspections and problem solving.
• Coordination Efforts: Collaborate with other agencies during studies and surveys to assess departmental needs.
