Job summary

PrideNow is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, test, and document high-precision semiconductor capital equipment. You will support mechanical system development from feasibility through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and documentation.

You will design and analyze mechanical systems, run feasibility studies, develop prototypes, and perform tolerance and reliability testing while coordinating with cross-functional teams across a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate new and modified mechanical designs.

• Plan and execute mechanical, thermal, structural, and reliability testing.
• Investigate technical issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and evaluate dimensional requirements.
• Provide design information and technical specifications for drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate with drafting, manufacturing, laboratory, and other technical support personnel.
• Analyze test data using statistical methods and communicate results.

Schedule: Regular, Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST

Duties

Mechanical Engineer responsible for the design, analysis, testing, and documentation of complex, high-precision semiconductor capital equipment. This role supports mechanical system development from feasibility and concept through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and documentation.

What You'll Do

• Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment, assemblies, and packaging.
• Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate new and modified mechanical designs.
• Develop prototypes and support fabrication, assembly, and design verification activities.
• Plan and execute mechanical, thermal, structural, and reliability testing.
• Investigate technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and evaluate dimensional requirements.
• Provide design information and technical specifications for engineering drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate with drafting, manufacturing, laboratory, and other technical support personnel.
• Analyze test data using appropriate statistical methods and communicate results effectively.
• Prepare and present technical information to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Manage multiple engineering activities while adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Work effectively within cross-functional and matrixed organizations.

Skills

• Semiconductor experience, familiarity with working in a chemical laboratory.
• Strong CAD modeling skills; experience with NX, Pro/ENGINEER, or SolidWorks. NX experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of vacuum systems, materials and machining, including aluminum, plastics, ceramics, quartz, O-rings, vacuum fittings, and helium leak testing.
• Experience with FEA (thermal/structural), heating and cooling systems, tolerance analysis, and reliability testing.
• Familiarity with chemical laboratory environments, surface preparation, SPC/DOE, and statistical data analysis.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, teamwork, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a cross-functional/matrix environment.
