Job summary

Refocus LLC in New Jersey seeks a Mechanical Engineer (entry to mid-level) to design, develop, test, and improve mechanical systems and components. This role is hybrid with some on-site work and offers hands-on engineering experience across product design, prototyping, and analysis.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams, perform calculations, create drawings, review specifications, and ensure designs meet standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 0–5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience reading drawings and specs.
• Experience with CAD software listed.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
• Create and review 2D drawings, 3D models, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and basic mechanical analysis.
• Support prototype development, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve design and production issues.
• Participate in design reviews, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure designs meet applicable engineering standards and customer requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, test documentation, and project updates.
