Job summary

Corbin Consulting Engineers in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-discipline team delivering innovative mechanical and process solutions for technology and industrial clients.

You will design HVAC, piping, exhaust, and process systems, prepare construction documents, and collaborate across disciplines while growing professionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2+ years of experience at an architectural/engineering firm.
  • EIT or PE registration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical and process systems and prepare construction documents with varying degrees of complexity.
  • Prepare engineering studies surveying existing conditions, evaluating capacities, and recommending corrections.
  • Prepare P&ID drawings, specifications, sequences of operations, testing documents, and reports.
  • Coordinate with other engineering team members across disciplines.
  • Conduct site investigations to confirm and document field conditions.

Description

We are seeking a mechanical engineer for our Tempe office who will work with a competent multi-discipline team of peers with a wide range of experience levels. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new office serving industry leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing mechanical and process systems and preparing construction documents with varying degrees of complexity. You will work with facility HVAC, process piping, exhaust, hydronic systems, and chip manufacturing equipment installations.
  • Preparing engineering studies for mechanical and process systems that survey existing conditions, evaluate capacities, and make recommendations for corrections and upgrades.
  • Preparation of P&ID drawings for various systems, construction specifications, sequence of operations, testing documents, and engineering reports.
  • Coordinating with other engineering team members, including those from other technical disciplines.
  • Conducting site investigations to confirm and document field conditions.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Understanding of basic building code requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Excellent technical writing ability.
  • Highly organized.
  • Must show ownership and follow-through on assigned projects.
  • Interest in professional growth.
  • Ability to learn quickly and grasp new concepts, especially as they relate to engineering and construction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is a plus.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2+ years of experience working for an architectural/engineering (A/E) consulting firm.
  • Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients is preferred.
  • EIT or PE registration is preferred.
