Corbin Consulting Engineers in Tempe, Arizona seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. You will design mechanical and process systems for advanced technology, industrial, and life sciences projects, and coordinate with professionals across disciplines.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in an A/E consulting firm, a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, and strong skills in writing, organization, and client communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.
• At least 7 years in an architectural/engineering (A/E) consulting firm.
• Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients preferred.
• PE registration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design for mechanical and process systems ranging from simple to complex.
• Coordinate with design team members across disciplines.
• Participate in client design review meetings and present design strategies.
• Prepare P&ID drawings, specs, sequences, tests, and reports.
• Services during construction including field verification and RFIs.

Summary: We are seeking a senior chemical process engineer for our Tempe office who will work with a competent multi-disciplinary team of peers with a wide range of experience levels. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new office serving industry leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design for mechanical and process systems ranging from simple to complex. Types of design can include mechanical facility upgrades for semiconductor manufacturing plants, process piping and exhaust, hydronic systems, facility HVAC, and tool installation packages.
• Coordination with design team members, both in mechanical/process and other disciplines.
• Participation in client design review meetings and presentation of design strategies.
• Preparation of P&ID drawings for various systems, construction specifications, sequence of operations, testing documents, and engineering reports.
• Services during construction, including field verification, site observation reports, responses to RFIs, and submittal reviews.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Understanding of basic building code requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
• Excellent technical writing ability.
• Highly organized.
• Must show ownership and follow-through on assigned projects.
• Interest in professional growth.
• Ability to learn quickly and grasp new concepts, especially as they relate to engineering and construction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is a plus.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 7 years of experience working for an architectural/engineering (A/E) consulting firm.
• Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients is preferred.
• PE registration is preferred.
