# Mechanical EngineerKATY, TX 77493Education Level4 Year Degree## Description**Mechanical Engineer Job Description****Department:** Engineering **Job Status:** Full Time **FLSA Status:** Exempt **Reports To:** Director of Operations **Location:** Katy, Texas **Travel Required:** 10%**Work Schedule:** • Katy, TX Monday–Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.**Position Summary**Aurelia Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support turbine manufacturing operations and optimize production processes for power generation systems. This role will focus on improving manufacturing efficiency, ensuring product quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with rotating equipment, precision manufacturing, and energy sector standards.**Essential Functions**The following duties and responsibilities are all essential functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may."* Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for turbine components, including rotors, stators, and housings* Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of new products and support design-for-manufacturing (DFM) initiatives* Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures* Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues and quality deviations* Support implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement projects* Evaluate and select tooling, fixtures, and equipment for turbine assembly and testing* Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, and internal quality standards* Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and production line balancing* Assist with capital equipment justification and facility layout planning* Provide technical support to production teams and train operators on new processes and equipment* Interface with suppliers and vendors to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve part quality**Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities**• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required, Master’s preferred • 5+ years of experience in turbine manufacturing, rotating equipment, or power generation systems • Strong understanding of machining, casting, welding, and assembly processes • Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP systems • Familiarity with ASME codes, ISO standards, and energy sector regulations • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams**Preferred Qualifications**• Experience with microturbines or distributed energy systems • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies • Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis • Certification in manufacturing engineering (CMfgE) or Six Sigma is a plus**Physical Requirements/Work Environment**• The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
