Job summary

Aurelia Technologies is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot compact turbine systems at client sites in the US and abroad. The role requires hands-on technical work, strong problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and performance.

The technician will install and commission turbines, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and provide on-site training and support. Travel, weekends, and emergency coverage may be required.

Qualifications

  • Requires Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training.
  • 3–5 years of field service experience with turbines, generators, or power generation systems.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Knowledge of turbine control systems, vibration analysis, and alignment techniques.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, vibration analyzers).
  • Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install and commission gas and steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems with proper alignment, calibration, and functionality.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and corrective repairs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct performance tests, load testing, and system calibrations to verify efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide on-site technical support and training to clients on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed service reports, including work performed, parts used, and future recommendations.
  • Adhere to OSHA, ASME, ISO, and Aurelia safety protocols across all field activities.
  • Travel to client sites, often on short notice, including weekends and emergency rotations.

# Field Service TechnicianKATY, TX 77493## Description**Position Summary**Aurelia Technologies is hiring a **Field Service Technician** to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our compact turbine systems across domestic and international client sites. This role demands hands-on technical expertise, independent problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and performance. The ideal candidate is confident in working with turbines, generators, and control systems, and thrives in dynamic environments where precision and customer support drive success.**Essential Functions**The following duties and responsibilities are all essential functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may."* **Installation & Commissioning:** Install and commission gas and steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems with proper alignment, calibration, and functionality* **Maintenance & Repairs:** Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and corrective repairs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance* **Troubleshooting:** Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools* **Testing & Calibration:** Conduct performance tests, load testing, and system calibrations to verify efficiency and compliance* **Customer Support:** Provide on site technical support and training to clients on equipment operation and maintenance* **Documentation:** Maintain detailed service reports, including work performed, parts used, and future recommendations* **Safety & Compliance:** Adhere to OSHA, ASME, ISO, and Aurelia safety protocols across all field activities* **Travel:** Respond to service needs at client sites, often on short notice, with flexibility for weekends and emergency rotations## Qualifications**Position Requirements*** Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical training* 3–5 years of field service experience with turbines, generators, or power generation systems* Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals* Knowledge of turbine control systems, vibration analysis, and alignment techniques* Familiarity with diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, vibration analyzers)* Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems* Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills* Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments**Preferred Qualifications*** GE, Siemens, or equivalent turbine-specific training* Experience with GE Frame series, Siemens SGT, or similar models* Knowledge of power plant operations and distributed control systems (DCS)* Familiarity with condition-based monitoring and predictive maintenance* OSHA 10/30-hour training**Physical & Work Environment**Work is primarily performed at client sites, including power plants and industrial facilities. Technicians may be exposed to high noise levels, extreme temperatures, and hazardous materials. PPE is required. Must be able to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks at heights or in variable weather conditions. Standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment for reading technical documents and using diagnostic tools.
