POSITION SUMMARY

The SME Engineer – Mechanical provides deep technical expertise in specialized areas of mobile turbine package design, including aero derivative engines, frame engines, gearboxes, and packaging. This role supports multiple product lines by resolving complex technical questions, providing guidance to product line teams and Supply Chain, and developing practical design solutions. The SME Engineer – Mechanical works closely with other engineering disciplines, Integration, Manufacturing, third party engineering firms, Operations, and Shared Services and applies both technical and hands on knowledge to support business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Resolve complex technical questions using a hands on approach and a sense of urgency.
• Work effectively in both shop and office environments.
• Execute innovative designs and changes for complex packaging and engine opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance to product line teams and Supply Chain.
• Coordinate and hand off work to product line teams, Quality, Supply Chain, Accounting, Digital, and other Shared Services to support compliant, efficient, and process aligned execution.
• Collaborate with engineering, Integration, Manufacturing, third party engineering firms, Operations, and Shared Services on assigned work.
• Ensure work is conducted in accordance with safety processes, standard operating procedures, and site specific policies.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.

Qualifications: POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Overtime based on business needs.
• Successfully pass all applicable general pre employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre employment drug screening, pre employment fit tests, pre employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
• Daily in person, predictable attendance.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required. Most employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including 3 year U.S. driving history and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.
• Proficiency in spoken English language.*
• Ability to travel based on business needs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Three or more years of supervisory experience.
• An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Preferred

• Mobile turbine packaging experience.
• Knowledge of aero and industrial turbines.

• Attend, participate in, and successfully complete scheduled New Hire Safety training, including H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.
• Successfully complete annual safety and operations recertification training.
• Maintain knowledge of and comply with Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company mandated systems.
• Quickly learn and navigate company platforms.
• Receive instruction and interact positively with employees within assigned work groups.
• Efficiently use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. When required to visit a wellsite, the work environment may include exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio levels up to 85 dB, inclement weather, and extreme temperatures (both hot and cold). Given these conditions, employees visiting a pad site are required to wear company mandated and company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and impact gloves, and must strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Employees must be able to independently lift 25 lbs.

Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
