Job summary

Dynamis seeks a Director of Mechanical Engineering to provide strategic and technical leadership for mechanical engineering, project engineering, and product data management within the Dynamis engineering organization.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Mechanical Engineering provides strategic and technical leadership for mechanical engineering, project engineering, mechanical subject matter expert, and product data management functions within the Dynamis engineering organization. The role leads innovative, practical engineering solutions with a focus on hyper-mobile turbine packaging; ensures complete 3D models and comprehensive data packages for first-article development and sustaining engineering; and collaborates with electrical, controls, automation, integration, manufacturing, third-party engineering firms, and shared-services organizations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Execute hyper-mobile turbine packaging designs.
• Participate in executive design reviews and contribute innovative engineering solutions.
• Lead the project engineering function, including project timelines.
• Lead the mechanical engineering function, including 3D models and mechanical vendor management.
• Lead the product data management engineering function, including the engineering change process and coordination with supply chain and accounting.
• Lead the mechanical engineering subject matter expert function to maintain technical knowledge supporting active and upcoming product lines.
• Interface with electrical, controls, integration, and automation engineering teams.
• Ensure engineering teams perform work in accordance with safety processes, standard operating procedures, and site-specific policies.
• Provide training and continued-learning opportunities within engineering branches.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.

Qualifications: POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Overtime based on business needs.
• Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
• Daily in-person, predictable attendance.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required. Most employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including 3 year U.S. driving history and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.
• Proficiency in spoken English language.
• Ability to travel based on business needs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL

Required

• Four-year bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, such as a BSME or BSEE.
• Five or more years of project management experience.
• Five or more years of design or design software experience.
• Turbine packaging experience.

Preferred

• Mobile turbine packaging experience.
• Knowledge of aero and industrial turbines.
• Electrical and controls knowledge and/or experience.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES

• Attend, participate in, and successfully complete scheduled New Hire Safety training, including H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.
• Attend and successfully complete annual safety and operations recertification training.
• Communicate technical information with clients.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment to complete assigned tasks.
• Maintain strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Remain compliant with digital platforms including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company-mandated systems.
• Learn and navigate company platforms quickly.
• Follow instructions and interact with other employees in a positive manner within assigned work groups.
• Efficiently use Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees are frequently required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach, and squat or kneel. The employee works primarily indoors and will be sitting for prolonged periods at a desk while typing on a computer, whether in a home office, corporate office, client office, or jobsite. The employee must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities. When required to visit a wellsite, the work environment may include exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio levels up to 85 dB, inclement weather, and extreme temperatures (both hot and cold). Given these conditions, employees visiting a pad site are required to wear company-mandated and company-issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and impact gloves, and must strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Employees must be able to independently lift 25 lbs.

Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
