Job summary

Metric DCX in Houston is seeking a hands-on Mechanical / Controls Engineer to support the design and delivery of modular data center infrastructure.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, controls and other teams, review designs, assist with equipment selection, and guide projects from design through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in data centers or mission-critical infrastructure.
• Experience across mechanical systems, controls, BMS/BAS, PLC/SCADA, automation or related infrastructure.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Comfortable with both design and field execution.

About the Opportunity

We are working with a fast-growing infrastructure company developing a network of modular data centers across the US.

As the business begins deploying its first sites, they are building out their engineering team in Houston and looking for a hands-on Mechanical / Controls Engineer to support the design and delivery of their infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of mechanical and controls systems across data center projects.
• Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
• Support equipment selection, system integration and controls requirements.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, controls and other engineering disciplines.
• Work with external engineering firms, equipment manufacturers and fabrication partners.
• Support projects through design, manufacturing, construction, testing and commissioning.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience within data centers or mission-critical infrastructure.
• Experience across mechanical systems, controls, BMS/BAS, PLC/SCADA, automation or related infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of engineering design and system integration.
• Comfortable working across both design and field execution.
• Experience with modular or prefabricated infrastructure is beneficial but not required.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
