Advert Upstream Engineering LLC in Houston is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute from concept through detailed design and construction. You will work on upstream oil and gas facilities and support project delivery with practical, hands-on design input.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience, familiarity with ASME and API codes, and strong communication in a team environment. This position is on-site in Houston.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in upstream offshore projects.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for upstream oil and gas facilities using core engineering principles.
• Develop conceptual and preliminary designs to support proposals and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate design requirements early in project development and produce efficient, cost-effective designs.
• Coordinate with designers and drafting personnel in the preparation of engineering drawings and design documentation.
• Review and verify engineering drawings and deliverables for technical accuracy prior to construction issuance.
• Participate in constructability reviews and recommend design improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and construction productivity.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Support project execution activities and provide technical assistance throughout the design and construction phases.

As a member of a collaborative project team, you will support the development of engineering deliverables from concept through detailed design and construction. Duties

• Design mechanical systems for upstream oil and gas facilities using principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and materials engineering
• Develop conceptual and preliminary engineering designs to support project proposals and customer requirements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate design requirements early in project development and produce efficient, cost-effective, and problem-free designs
• Coordinate with designers and drafting personnel in the preparation of engineering drawings and design documentation
• Review and verify engineering drawings and deliverables for technical accuracy prior to construction issuance
• Participate in constructability reviews and recommend design improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and construction productivity
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements

Required

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year university
• Minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably with experience supporting upstream offshore projects or production facilities
• Working knowledge of applicable ASME and API codes and standards
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Understanding of mechanical equipment and systems commonly used in upstream oil and gas facilities
• Familiarity with upstream engineering, fabrication, and construction practices, preferred
• Strong organizational, time management, and project planning skills
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional technical documentation and reports
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing project priorities
• Demonstrated initiative and willingness to assume additional responsibilities as needed
