Job summary

Acteon Group is seeking a Senior Engineer for our Houston team to contribute to challenging offshore energy projects. You will work with experienced engineers, project managers, and clients to solve problems involving risers, pipelines, subsea systems, and installation operations.

You will take ownership of technical scopes, deliver analyses and design work, and grow your career through increasing responsibility and hands-on leadership across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Ocean Engineering.
• 5-10 years of offshore engineering experience.
• Experience in riser, pipeline, SURF, subsea, or installation engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in project teams.
• Experience using OrcaFlex, ABAQUS, ANSYS, FLEXCOM, MATLAB, or Python.
• Familiarity with API, DNV, and ISO offshore design standards (preferred).
• Master's degree or PE License (preferred).

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Houston team and contribute to some of the industry's most challenging offshore energy projects.

In this role, you'll work directly with experienced engineering specialists, project managers, and clients to solve complex offshore engineering problems involving risers, pipelines, subsea systems, and installation operations. You'll take ownership of technical work scopes, contribute to project delivery, and continue developing your expertise through hands-on experience across a wide variety of projects.

This role is ideal for an engineer with 5-10 years of experience who is ready to take the next step in their career by gaining greater responsibility, client exposure, and project leadership opportunities.

Duties

Solve Challenging Engineering Problems

• Deliver engineering analyses and design assessments for offshore pipeline, riser, and subsea projects
• Develop practical solutions to complex offshore challenges
• Perform production and drilling riser analysis
• Perform pipeline design including thermal expansion and buckling, pipeline walking and free span assessments
• Structural analysis of subsea hardware and foundations
• Prepare engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and design documentation

Own Project Work Scopes

• Take responsibility for delivering assigned project scopes from initiation through final delivery
• Work closely with project managers to plan and execute engineering activities
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives
• Contribute to technical reviews and project decision-making
• Opportunities for real world experience providing technical support during offshore installation

• Participate in client meetings and technical workshops
• Present engineering findings and recommendations
• Collaborate with clients to understand project challenges and develop effective solutions

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Ocean Engineering
• 5-10 years of relevant offshore engineering experience
• Experience in one or more of the following:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within project teams
• Experience using 1 or more software applications: OrcaFlex, ABAQUS, ANSYS, FLEXCOM, MATLAB, or Python
• Familiarity with API, DNV, and ISO offshore design standards, preferred
• Master's degree or PhD and PE License, preferred
