Job summary

Upstream Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Houston to support the development of deliverables from concept through detailed design and construction. This role offers hands-on exposure across the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, ensure compliance with ASME/API codes, and produce clear technical documentation while driving safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs for upstream oil and gas facilities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably upstream offshore.
• Working knowledge of ASME and API codes and standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of mechanical equipment and systems used in upstream facilities.
• Familiarity with upstream engineering, fabrication, and construction practices.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project planning skills.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional technical documentation and reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work in a team.

As a member of a collaborative project team, you will support the development of engineering deliverables from concept through detailed design and construction. Duties

• Design mechanical systems for upstream oil and gas facilities using principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and materials engineering
• Develop conceptual and preliminary engineering designs to support project proposals and customer requirements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate design requirements early in project development and produce efficient, cost-effective, and problem-free designs
• Coordinate with designers and drafting personnel in the preparation of engineering drawings and design documentation
• Review and verify engineering drawings and deliverables for technical accuracy prior to construction issuance
• Participate in constructability reviews and recommend design improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and construction productivity
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Support project execution activities and provide technical assistance throughout the design and construction phases

Required

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year university
