Job summary

Upstream Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Houston to support the development of deliverables from concept through detailed design and construction. This role offers hands-on exposure across the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, ensure compliance with ASME/API codes, and produce clear technical documentation while driving safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs for upstream oil and gas facilities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably upstream offshore.
• Working knowledge of ASME and API codes and standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of mechanical equipment and systems used in upstream facilities.
• Familiarity with upstream engineering, fabrication, and construction practices.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project planning skills.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional technical documentation and reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for upstream oil and gas facilities using mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and materials engineering.
• Develop conceptual and preliminary engineering designs to support proposals and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design requirements early in projects.
• Coordinate with designers to prepare engineering drawings and documentation.
• Review and verify engineering drawings for technical accuracy prior to construction.
• Participate in constructability reviews and suggest design improvements.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Support project execution and provide technical assistance through design and construction phases.
