Job summary

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Pennsylvania MEP Engineering Firm expanding into Boulder and Denver, CO, to recruit a Mechanical Project Engineer in the Boulder, CO area. You will lead mechanical design for higher education, laboratory, and industrial projects; perform HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts; and coordinate with in‑house and external teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design within an MEP consulting environment.
  • EIT preferred; PE an asset.
  • HVAC design & load calculation experience; plumbing design a plus.
  • Experience with Revit.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and energy efficiency.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is excited to partner with a comprehensive Pennsylvania MEP Engineering Firm expanding into Boulder and Denver, CO, specializing in the design and implementation of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems. to recruit a Mechanical Project Engineer in Boulder, CO area.

This is an incredible opportunity to join a growing firm that thrive on opportunities to create innovative and sustainable solutions for their return clients. As the first Colorado hire, this key player will be the boots-on-the-ground coordination support to the HQ in PA, and will be an integral part of future team and business growth in the area for the firm. In addition to overseeing and coordinating on local projects, they will also contribute to the engineering and project needs for the home office as well. Travel to head office will be provided on occasion for training, social events, or other business or employee development needs.

Role Description

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead mechanical design efforts for higher education, laboratory/research and industrial projects.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
  • Collaborate with in-house electrical engineers and external architecture and engineering consultants on projects.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and sustainability practices.
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and construction administration activities.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and demonstrated experience in building mechanical systems design, and energy analysis.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design within an MEP consulting environment.
  • EIT preferred and PE an asset.
  • Strong survey accuracy and other construction oversight and coordination skills are necessary.
  • HVAC design & load calculation experience is required, plumbing design experience an asset.
  • Experience working with Revit required.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and energy efficiency principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
