Job summary

AfterQuery Experts is seeking a remote, project-based mechanical engineer with hands-on CAD experience. You will create and iterate mechanical designs, develop engineering drawings, and support product development across components and assemblies.

The role is asynchronous with an expected commitment of 10–20 hours per week. You will work with real-world engineering challenges and build a strong professional portfolio while earning up to $100 per hour.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in at least one major CAD platform (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, CATIA, NX, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ability to produce detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings to industry standards.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, and iterate on mechanical designs and CAD models for components, assemblies, and systems.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation to manufacturing standards.
• Perform engineering analysis and support product development workflows.
• Document design decisions, assumptions, and methodologies clearly and reproducibly.
