Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an entry-level engineer with a mechanical or electrical focus to support Advanced Facilities projects nationwide. You will learn safety/quality practices, perform basic M/E construction tasks, and help develop budget estimates and bid analyses alongside experienced teams.

You will review design documents, assist in sequencing and shop drawing processes, and participate in commissioning activities to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years construction experience or internship preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to read plans and specs.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic M/E software/tools.
• Knowledge of construction management methods and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Learns and participates in safety and quality plans and culture.
• Performs entry level mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
• Develops budgetary M/E estimates from program/design information using estimating systems.
• Reviews M/E options during preconstruction and analyzes systems.
• Develops M/E scopes of work for bid coordination.
• Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
• Develops sequencing for systems to meet schedule requirements.
• Assists with design document reviews to identify constructability issues.
• Performs job inspections for quality and on-time completion.
• Assists with shop drawing/submittal process and commissioning procedures.
