Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an entry-level engineer to support the Advanced Facilities Group on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. You’ll assist in developing budgets, reviewing options, and coordinating bid activities.

Ideal candidates have a 0–2 year construction background or internship, plus a relevant bachelor’s degree. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and collaborating with teams to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years construction experience and/or summer internship/co-op experience in construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ electrical/ architectural engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Learns and participates in safety and quality plans and culture.
• Completes entry level mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
• Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates from program data using automated estimating system.
• Assists in review of mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and conducts systems analysis.
• Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for bid coordination.
• Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection input.
• Helps develop sequencing of various systems to meet schedule requirements.
• Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues for constructability review.
• Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and timely delivery.
• Assists with shop drawing/submittal process to comply with contract documents.
• Assists with commissioning: pre-functional checklists, functional testing procedures and testing.
