Job summary

MSI Express, INC is seeking a Mechanical Electrical Controls Technician to maintain and optimize electrical control systems at a food manufacturing site in Texas. You will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and control wiring, while supporting preventive maintenance and system upgrades.

The role requires an Associate degree in a relevant field and 3+ years of controls experience, with familiarity in Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Omron platforms.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, or related field.
• Technical certifications in PLC programming or electrical systems are preferred.
• 3+ years of controls/automation experience in food manufacturing or industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and control wiring.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical components (bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps) as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on control systems and automation equipment.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and control panels.
• Modify control logic and programming to improve performance.
• Maintain electrical schematics, program backups, and change logs.
