Job summary

MSI Express, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Electrical Controls Technician (MEC Technician) at our Texas food manufacturing site to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize electrical control systems and automation equipment for production efficiency and regulatory compliance.

You will diagnose issues across PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and related components while supporting safe, clean, and high-quality operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field required.
• 3+ years in controls or automation in food manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley preferred; knowledge of Siemens/Omron.
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and control wiring.
• Perform preventive maintenance on control systems and automation equipment.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and control panels.
• Maintain electrical schematics, program backups, and change logs.
• Respond to equipment alarms and downtime events related to control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance on capital projects.
