Job summary

Wayne Farms LLC seeks an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and maintain electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems across production lines. You will read blueprints, repair PLCs, and support reliability through preventative maintenance.

The role requires experience with welding, pipefitting, and fabrication, plus the ability to work independently and unsupervised on rotating shifts. Safety and quality compliance are essential in daily tasks.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical Level 1 & 2 certification.
  • NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical Level 3 certification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial machinery preventative maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Independently troubleshoot electrical, distribution and electromechanical systems.
  • Repair and maintain PLC, process and machine controls, pumps and conveying systems.
  • Identify root causes and implement repairs using welding, pipefitting and fabrication.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled and document activities.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with company policies and regulations.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:Primarily responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining basic electrical, power distribution and electromechanical systems, basic process and machine controls, pumps, mechanical equipment, advanced pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and conveying systems. Use blueprints and diagrams to verify that all equipment is operating within required specifications and tolerances. May perform periodic testing and inspections, troubleshooting and repairs. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:Independently troubleshoot reported problems; repair and maintain electrical, power distribution and electromechanical systems, PLC, process and machine controls, pumps and mechanical equipment pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and conveying systems; including installing and maintaining basic AC and DC controls, lighting, electrical systems using blueprints and schematic drawings to ensure equipment is performing safely to required specificationsIdentify root cause of complex/difficult mechanical and electrical issues and repair using welding, fabrication, basic pipefitting and electrical/process control knowledge; notify appropriate personnel if further attention is requiredPerform preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduledSearch for and present ideas for permanent fix to reoccurring mechanical or electrical problemsIdentify unsafe conditions and corrects; request assistance if unable to correct on ownAssist with maintaining a file of blueprints and operating manuals and procedures as neededTrain lower level employees as neededWork in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulationsAll other duties as assignedEDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalentNOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 1 and 2 certifiedPass NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 3 requiredEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial machinery preventative maintenance and repair, mechanical and electrical knowledge a mustAbility to read and understand blueprints, drawings and schematics requiredIntermediate math and computer skillsAbility to operate/use hand and power tools required; experience with welding, pipefitting and/or fabrication requiredAbility to comprehend and communicate in English requiredAbility to work unsupervised and self-motivateAbility to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hoursSound work ethic, honesty and moral characterSAFETY REQUIREMENTS:Follow departmental and company safety policies and programsMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Stand up to 8 hoursLift up to 60 lbsMay be exposed to heat (99ºF, 37ºC) and cold (45ºF, 4ºC)Exposure to wet and dusty environmentFrequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawlingRoll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs.)Work around raw, live animal odorsWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
