Job summary

Garmin International is hiring a full-time Intern - Mechanical Engineering in Tucson, AZ. You will assist in developing concepts and designing mechanical/electromechanical products and coordinate mechanical development within a cross-functional team.

You will design electronic packages with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, contribute to part specification, and work with designers, toolmakers, and engineers to move concepts toward production while maintaining documentation control.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• GPA 3.0 or higher as a general guideline.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts and design mechanical or electromechanical products or systems.
• Direct and coordinate mechanical development across the team.
• Design electronic packages using CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
• Specify requirements and source parts (connectors, motors, LCDs, etc.).
• Interface with industrial designers, toolmakers and electrical engineers.
• Maintain configuration control of documentation for products in production.
