Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Designer/EIT to coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial projects in the United States. You will write specifications, develop HVAC models, and produce BIM/CAD documentation while collaborating with architects and engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, strong CAD skills, and Revit experience; EIT is encouraged for progression. Local candidates preferred for Pennsylvania assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office and HVAC design software.
• EIT preferred or candidates will be titled 'Mechanical Designer' until licensure.
• Revit experience required for project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects.
• Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring standard techniques.
• Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices.
• Utilize software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and equipment sizing.
• Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design including drawings and reports.
• Assist in BIM documentation using CAD software.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
• Supervise Mechanical CAD Technicians and coordinate with architectural staff.
• Handle construction contract administration including RFI reviews and field inspections.
• Perform other duties as needed.
