Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical EIT/Designer to join the Building Engineering Services group in New England. You will design mechanical systems (HVAC and plumbing) for commercial and institutional projects, contributing to energy-efficient solutions.

Within a collaborative, employee-owned culture, you will develop design packages, assist with calculations, perform site visits, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and engineering software.
• Experience with HVAC and plumbing design for commercial/institutional buildings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems for BES mechanical projects.
• Prepare design packages, calculations, and specifications.
• Develop airside and waterside system diagrams and equipment layouts.
• Perform site visits to verify conditions and monitor progress.
• Assist with energy modeling and life-cycle cost analyses.
• Collaborate with junior engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
