Job summary

Actalent is seeking Mechanical Designers/Drafters in Austin, TX to convert R&D concepts into repeatable manufacturing drawings and tooling designs. The role emphasizes Siemens NX CAD work, GD&T, and PLM/TLM workflows in a fast-paced environment.

The position is contract-to-hire and requires independence, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with engineers, machinists, and technicians on site.

Qualifications

• Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings from 3D models.
• Proficient with GD&T and dimensioning.
• Experience with hardware assemblies and tooling design.

Responsibilities

• Create and update drawings for parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.
• Define tolerances, fits, and finishes per manufacturing needs.
• Collaborate with design engineers and machinists to ensure manufacturability.
• Maintain revision control and documentation in PLM system.
• Support transition of R&D designs to production.
