Job summary

DNOW is seeking a Mechanical Drafter in Texas to provide engineering support on mechanical equipment, perform tolerance studies, and verify design documents. You will create component and system level test plans and fixtures, while collaborating with engineers on layouts and detailed drawings.

The role requires knowledge of 2D/3D CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and at least 1 year of mechanical drafting experience; EIT certification is a plus. Strong technical communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent education and experience.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools and drafting standards.
• Minimum 1+ year mechanical drafting/engineering experience.
• EIT certification (APEGA) is preferred.
• Knowledge of product lines and ability to read/interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic drawing tasks as assigned by engineering group.
• Assist in calculations required to complete work assignments.
• Verify and check drawings and parts lists for accuracy.
• Support design projects and concepts, including drafting standards.
• Create parts lists and detail drawings as required.
• Develop design layouts and finalize detail drawings.
• Produce engineering reports documenting design efforts.
• Adhere to DNOW safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure compliant, timely deliverables.
• Contribute to system development and test fixture creation.
