Job summary

Actalent in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Mechanical Designer/Drafter to develop detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings for custom modular wall systems. You will manage BOMs and CAD files using Inventor and Vault, collaborating closely with manufacturing to move designs from concept to production.

The role is a hybrid contract-to-hire, offering hands-on design work and opportunities to influence CAD workflows and drafting standards within a dynamic engineering team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of drafting or design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience using Autodesk Vault or similar PDM/document management systems.
• Experience creating: 3D models.
• Shop drawings, assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, BOMs.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience supporting manufacturing and production teams.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and revision control.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation using Autodesk Inventor.
• Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Manage CAD files, revisions, and engineering documentation using Autodesk Vault.
• Collaborate with engineering, drafting, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are accurate and production-ready.
• Update and revise existing models and drawings based on design changes and customer requirements.
• Create documentation to support fabrication, assembly, and installation activities.
• Maintain revision control and proper file organization within Vault.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting standards and CAD workflows.
