A leading engineering firm is seeking an Inventor CAD Designer in the United States. In this role, you will design and create complex 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and produce detailed drawing packages. Successful candidates will have strong experience with structural steel and mechanical design, and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor is essential. Additionally, you will coordinate with clients and mentor junior staff, contributing to a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of continuous experience in operating Inventor in a design firm or comparable experience.
• Experience with structural steel and mechanical design.
• High proficient use of Autodesk Inventor.

The Inventor CAD Designer will be working with a team of designers, engineers and project managers utilizing the 3D computer aided design tool Inventor to create 3D models of complex structural & mechanical components and assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and create advanced / complex 3D models by using Inventor
• Produce comprehensive drawing packages in timely manner
• Create annotative details and sections
• Create shop drawings including linked Bills of Materials / Part Lists
• Assist in creation and management of numbering and naming schemes for drawings, documents, models, etc.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, fabrication, and construction to meet fabrication and constructability requirements
• Mentorship of junior and intermediate employees

Qualifications Required

• Experienced with structural steel, steel plate and mechanical design.
• Experience with reinforced concrete as an asset
• Understanding of engineering principles, assembly, fabrication, and construction
• High proficient use of Autodesk Inventor
• Strong knowledge and experience with parametric modelling including skeletal and use of Frame Generator
• Experience with sheet metal including correct unfolding / flat pattern creation
• Experience with iLogic programming as an asset
• Ability to integrate with outside support and various CAD platforms
• Proficient use of AutoCAD
• Experience with using Vault / PDM software
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - Excel
• Knowledge of VBA or equivalent programming language as an asset
• 5 or more years of continuous experience in operating Inventor in a professional services design firm or comparable experience
