Job summary

North Wind Services (NWS) is seeking a Design Drafter–Mechanical Designer to support the LLNL program in Livermore, CA. You will develop detailed hardware designs, create 3D CAD models using Creo, and generate drawings and documentation for reviews.

The role requires collaboration with engineers and scientists, adherence to ASME GD&T standards, and willingness to work overtime as needed. A pre-placement medical exam and drug screen may apply.

Qualifications

• AS degree, or equivalent with applicable experience in the mechanical engineering field.
• Broad background in design concepts, fabrication, materials and prototyping from start to finish.
• Ability to analyze tolerance stack-ups and ensure fit, form and function.

Responsibilities

• Develop, concept, and complete detailed designs of hardware and equipment.
• Create 3D CAD models and corresponding drawings using PTC Creo.
• Produce fabrication, assembly and installation drawings and documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and present concepts clearly.
