Job summary

Essnova Solutions, Inc. seeks a Mechanical CAD Designer to support the Advanced Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U) project at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

You will translate concepts into detailed CAD models and manufacturing-ready drawings, collaborating with engineers and scientists to integrate systems for a major facility upgrade. You will create and manage complex assemblies in Creo, apply GD&T, and prepare multi-sheet drawings and BOMs while maintaining Windchill files and ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical design or related field.
• At least five years of Creo Parametric experience.
• Ability to produce manufacturing-ready Creo drawings with GD&T.
• Experience building and managing complex assemblies.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Windchill or similar PLM system.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed 3D mechanical models and assemblies in Creo.
• Develop designs that satisfy schedule, cost, materials and integration constraints.
• Build and manage complex assemblies using parent-child relationships and advanced Creo methods.
• Prepare manufacturing-ready drawings and BOMs.
• Apply GD&T and project drafting standards to convey design intent.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists and project teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in design reviews and implement approved changes.
• Maintain revision-controlled models and drawings in Windchill.
• Follow safety, site access, and confidentiality requirements.
