Wald Wire & Manufacturing Co. in Oshkosh, WI is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support new-product development, production tooling, and continuous improvement. This hands-on role blends CAD design with shop-floor work to create welding fixtures, forming dies, and other tooling.
The ideal candidate has CAD drafting experience in manufacturing, reads drawings, and can operate tools and measurement devices. Autodesk Inventor is required; Fusion 360 and manual machining experience are a plus.
Wald Wire & Manufacturing Co. is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support new-product development, production tooling, and continuous improvement initiatives. This hands‑on position combines CAD design with practical manufacturing experience, including the development of welding fixtures, forming dies, checking aids, and other specialized tooling. The ideal candidate will have past hands‑on shop experience and have transitioned into an office engineering or programming role. Autodesk Inventor experience is a plus, but SolidWorks experience would be pretty transferable. This will be a hybrid office/shop role, the person will be expected to design tools, program them, and then actually make them on the CNC machining center.
Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated proficiency.
Experience with Autodesk Fusion 360, CNC programming, machining, welding, manual mills, or manual lathes is strongly preferred. An associate degree in mechanical design, drafting, manufacturing engineering technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent relevant education and hands‑on manufacturing experience will also be considered.
