Job summary

Actalent in Roseville, MI is seeking a tooling design engineer to design, detail, and check tooling and automation equipment using Inventor. You will collaborate with controls, design, and manufacturing teams to integrate mechanical systems and improve equipment and design processes.

The role requires 3+ years of tooling design experience or strong automation knowledge, proficiency in Inventor, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

Three or more years of tooling equipment design experience or strong automation knowledge.
Proficient in Inventor with strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to independently design and check mechanical equipment.
SolidWorks experience and welding/assembly/material handling experience are a plus.

Design, detail, and check tooling and automation equipment, including welding fixtures, assembly systems, conveyors, and material handling solutions, using Inventor. Collaborate with controls, design, and manufacturing teams to integrate mechanical systems, maintain design documentation, and improve equipment and design processes.

Requirements

The role requires at least three years of tooling equipment design experience, or strong automation knowledge for candidates with one year or less, along with proficiency in Inventor and strong mechanical aptitude. Candidates should be able to independently design and check mechanical equipment and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams; SolidWorks and experience with welding, assembly, or material handling systems are additional qualifications.
