Ellaway Blues Consulting is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer in Missouri to support development, design, fabrication, and production of complex mechanical equipment. You will create and modify 3D models and drawings, develop BOMs, and produce fabrication-ready documentation in a collaborative, project-driven environment.

You should have experience with Creo, Inventor, or AutoCAD and a track record designing large assemblies or custom equipment.

• Associate degree or formal training in Engineering/Drafting preferred.
• 3+ years of experience creating mechanical component and assembly designs in manufacturing or similar.
• Proficiency with Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD or similar 3D CAD software.

Responsabilidades

• Design mechanical components and assemblies using Creo, Inventor, or similar CAD software.
• Develop and maintain bills of materials and manufacturing documentation.
• Review engineering drawings, parts lists, and cut sheets for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support fabrication and assembly activities.
• Identify drawing or model discrepancies and communicate changes to engineering teams.
• Support ECNs and non-conformance processes.
• Participate in design reviews and project kickoff meetings.
• Track design deliverables and ensure deadlines are met.
• Help improve drawing quality and manufacturing efficiency.

We are currently looking for a Mechanical CAD Designer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing organization. This position supports the development, design, fabrication, and production of complex mechanical equipment, components, and assemblies in a collaborative, project-driven environment.

As the Mechanical CAD Designer, you'll play a key role in supporting both engineering and manufacturing teams by creating and modifying component and assembly models, developing detailed drawings and bills of materials, and producing fabrication-ready documentation. We are interested in candidates with experience using Inventor, Creo, or similar 3D CAD platforms, particularly those who have designed complex mechanical components, large assemblies, or custom engineered equipment. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects where your designs directly support production and project success.

The Mechanical CAD Designer's Responsibilities Will Be:

• Create and modify 3D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and fabrication documentation based on engineering requirements.


• Design mechanical components and assemblies using Inventor, Creo, or similar CAD software.


• Develop and maintain bills of materials and manufacturing documentation.


• Review engineering drawings, parts lists, and cut sheets for accuracy and completeness.


• Collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support fabrication and assembly activities.


• Identify drawing or model discrepancies and communicate required changes to engineering teams.


• Support engineering change notices (ECNs) and non-conformance processes.


• Participate in design reviews and project kickoff meetings.


• Track design deliverables and ensure project deadlines are met.


• Help improve drawing quality, manufacturing efficiency, and documentation consistency.


• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers as needed.

The Mechanical CAD Designer's Qualifications Will Be:

• Associate's degree, technical certification, or formal training in Engineering, Drafting, Design Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field is preferred but not required. Candidates with relevant mechanical design experience and strong CAD proficiency will also be considered.


• 3+ years of experience creating mechanical component and assembly designs in a manufacturing, fabrication, heavy industrial, aerospace, defense, industrial equipment, or similar environment.


• Proficiency with Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, or comparable 3D CAD software.


• Experience designing complex mechanical components, large assemblies, or custom engineered equipment.


• Experience developing and maintaining bills of materials.


• Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and design-for-manufacturing principles.


• Strong understanding of mechanical design processes, manufacturing methods, and assembly considerations.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.


• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.


• Experience supporting fabrication, manufacturing, industrial equipment, rotating equipment, machinery, or custom-engineered products is highly desirable.


• Experience with CAD/CAM, ERP, PLM, or other manufacturing systems is a plus.


• US work authorization required; sponsorship is not available.
