Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing is seeking an engineering design intern to assist in creating 3D models, 2D drawings, and electrical schematics using CAD tools. You will build Bills of Materials, support design changes, and help select engineered materials under supervision within the engineering department.

This internship starts May 2026 and runs during the summer, offering hands-on exposure to industry-leading truck body design and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Student working towards an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or engineering related field for entire duration of internship.
• Experience with CATIA or other CAD design software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering 3D models, 2D drawings, and/or electrical schematic preparation using computer aided design software.
• Create Bills of Material to support production and/or new product development.
• Create Engineering Change Notice as required to release new or revised models and drawings.
• Assist with the material selection for engineered parts.
• Conforms to SOPs, CAD procedures and drafting standards, and department work instructions.
