Job summary

Thunderbird Molding is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, test, and optimize mechanical systems for diverse industries. You will develop prototypes, run simulations, and document results to support robust, cost-effective solutions.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, expertise in SolidWorks, CAD/CAM, and 3D modeling, and strong collaboration with clients and production teams. Onsite work in New Albany, MS is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Expertise in SolidWorks, CAD, CAM and 3D modeling software.
• Ability to apply physics, mechanics and mathematics to solve complex design challenges.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, engineers and production teams.
• Capacity to develop efficient, functional and cost-effective mechanical solutions.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and refine mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
• Develop prototypes, run simulations, and validate designs for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, and manufacturing teams to meet specifications.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specs, and test reports, including iterations and results.
• Provide guidance on manufacturing processes and process capability analyses.
