Job summary

Centrus Energy Corp. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and optimize facility piping systems, size components, and prepare drawings. The role involves flow, pressure-drop, thermal, and stress checks, with opportunities to support procurement, safety reviews, and testing.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and at least two years in piping or process equipment, with familiarity in AutoCAD/SolidWorks/CFD/FEA and the ability to obtain a Q clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years hands-on experience in piping, fluid systems, or process equipment.
• Experience with equipment sizing and pressure-drop calculations.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, safety practices, and drafting or analysis tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize facility piping systems.
• Size mechanical components and prepare/update technical drawings and specifications.
• Perform flow, pressure-drop, thermal, and stress checks.
• Support procurement, safety and quality reviews, and factory acceptance testing.
• Assist field inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting under senior engineers.
