Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Brea, CA to design and analyze hydraulically operated equipment for nuclear projects. You will join a cross‑functional engineering team focused on design, test planning, documentation, and process improvements.

The role emphasizes hands‑on development, collaboration with analysis and electrical teams, and adherence to GD&T standards. A solid CAD background and problem‑solving mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of mechanical design or test engineering experience.
• Familiar with metalworking processes (machining, fabrication, welding).
• High proficiency in CAD modeling and engineering drawings with GD&T.
• Experience with test development, testing, or lab work.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing mechanical designs of hydraulically operated equipment, valves, and various nuclear plant components in CAD (SolidWorks).
• Creation of component level manufacturing drawings and assembly drawings.
• Preparation of engineering documentation including design specifications, test plans, and procedures
• Coordinate cross-functionally between mechanical, electrical, and analysis teams to drive the design process.
• Create and execute test strategies based on system requirements, support hands-on testing and troubleshooting
• Support technicians during fabrication or test setup and assist in resolving issues
• Review customer specifications and drawings; participate in customer meetings and technical discussions
